Head and Shoulders Above the Rest
Long gone are the days when small cars meant compromising space, power or personality. And they’re about to be left even further behind with the arrival of new Suzuki Celerio. It’s the small car with extra height, extra drive and a whole lot of extra special.
Celerio’s arrival does more than provide a smart solution
for long-legged, life-loving drivers. It consolidates Suzuki’s reputation as
small car experts by offering a roomier, yet lighter replacement for Alto – and
adding a new, modern twist along the way.
Popular for its driver comfort and excellent visibility,
Alto has long struck a chord with those looking for a great value everyday
vehicle and in that space, Celerio certainly won’t disappoint. It boasts all of
the features that made Alto the go to for great value driveability, with some even
bigger benefits.
THE EXTRA LARGE SMALL
CAR
Perhaps most notably, Celerio is taller and roomier inside,
which is a godsend for those with longer limbs and the desire to stretch out on
a journey. Celerio also feels larger, giving the driver an increased sense of security
on the road.
That feeling is backed up with the usual top safety features
you’ll find in Suzukis, including ABS, ESP and 6 airbags. Swift-based suspension
adds to the smooth handling, and the car has a reassuring ANCAP 4 star safety
rating.
Celerio doesn’t disappoint in performance either, with the 3-cylinder,
1.0 litre engine offering remarkable and reliable efficiency on the road. The
responsive motor launches up hills, and then settles nicely into quiet open
road cruising, giving the driver all the power and comfort they need at every
part of the journey.
You’ll have a few modern extras to enjoy as well with
Celerio, such as the onboard computer showing fuel useage and tank range, and
Bluetooth connectivity – more proof that this car really is designed to
surprise and delight.
In the words of Auckland motoring journalist, Donn Anderson,
“no other car can offer so much equipment at such a low price.”
GOING THE EXTRA
DISTANCE
Donn Anderson’s independent fuel economy test confirmed
Celerio has even more tricks up its sleeve than it’s letting on, even to us at
Suzuki New Zealand. With an official extra urban factory fuel test of 3.7
litres/100 km in mind, Donn covered a mix of rural and urban roads and managed
to achieve an average of 3.4 litres/100 km – or, in his words, “a stonking 83
miles per gallon.”
That’s a considerable endorsement from a driver who’s been
involved in recordbreaking long distance economy drives in Britain and New
Zealand.
“Excluding much more expensive petrol/electric hybrids, this
makes the Celerioarguably the most economical petrol car sold in New Zealand,
with fuel consumption lower than many diesel cars,” reported Anderson.
A SMALL CAR YOU CAN
LOOK UP TO
Celerio stands tall across a wide range of features,
offering a no-compromise vehicle that proves you can have it all, and still
