Occasionally, there may be a requirement to update your Suzuki outside of the normal servicing requirements.
Vehicle updates
Generally non-urgent, these modifications to your Suzuki are intended to keep it running smoothly. If you own a New Zealand new Suzuki vehicle, Suzuki New Zealand or an authorised Suzuki dealer will contact you via our data records. Please read our Privacy Policy regarding personal contact information.
Suzuki New Zealand Ltd may obtain your name and address from the Motor Vehicle Register. We are authorised as a member of the Motor Industry Association (MIA) to access this under the conditions of Gazette Notice 2023-au3015.
We have been authorised to obtain and use this for the following purposes:
- To provide registered persons with service campaigns for software updates to vehicle’s safety assist and autonomous systems and for upgrades to engine management systems for improvement environmental performance.
- To verify registered person details for warranty purposes.
- To provide registered persons with details of any extensions or possible extensions to existing warranty periods.
Any person can notify the Registrar that they do not wish to have their name and address made available under an authorisation by visiting the NZTA Waka Kotahi website here.
Satellite navigation updates
If your Suzuki has a Garmin satellite navigation unit, please go to www.garmin.com/suzuki to update the operational software and maps. Before updating select New Zealand English from the country options at the bottom right hand corner. This will ensure you receive the correct updates for New Zealand roads.
If your Suzuki has a Bosch satellite navigation unit, please go to www.navigation.com to purchase an SD card from the third party supplier 'HERE Maps'. Click on ‘Select your device’ then ‘Built-in, Factory Installed’ Use the drop down boxes to select the make, model and year. Click ‘ADD TO CART’ and follow the instructions to complete the purchase.
It is important to note that Suzuki dealers and Suzuki New Zealand Limited cannot be responsible for the content of the map software. As this data is supplied by a third party we cannot guarantee that all roads, highways etc will be correctly shown on their Navigation Unit display.
Swift Hybrid – Please note that the 2021–2023 Swift Hybrid model infotainment unit is not compatible with the HERE map data available for New Zealand.
Safety recalls
From time to time, we may have an urgent need to recall your vehicle due to a safety issue. If you own a New Zealand new Suzuki, Suzuki New Zealand or an authorised Suzuki dealer will contact you immediately. If you own an imported Suzuki vehicle, we will request the relevant owner information from Land Transport New Zealand. Suzuki New Zealand or an authorised Suzuki dealer will contact you as soon as possible. Please read our Privacy Policy regarding personal information.
All safety recall work on your vehicle (both parts and labour) will be carried out free of charge at your nearest Suzuki dealer.
VIN check
If you wish to check your Suzuki or obtain a pre-purchase check for a pre-loved Suzuki, please type in your 17 digit VIN/Chassis number and a return email address into the boxes below.
If you are having difficulty locating your 17 digit number, the location is listed in the owner's manual that was supplied with your Suzuki.
Our Technical team will receive your query and endeavour to respond within 3 working days. Submissions outside normal working hours or public holidays will be processed the next working day.
