KATANA

The KATANA is amongst Suzuki’s most iconic motorcycles, capturing the hearts of riders around the globe for over four decades. While its design cues pay homage to the iconic GSX1100S Katana, which stole hards of riders around the world in 1981, the Katana is a thoroughly modern machine that is breathtaking to behold and inspiring to ride.

For 2024, the KATANA gains more peak power, new Ride-by-Wire electronic throttle bodies, and a Bi-directional Quick Shift System. This modern beauty now hosts the latest Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.) that includes the three-mode Suzuki Drive Mode Selector and updated five-mode Advanced Traction Control System, plus the convenient Easy Start and Low RPM Assist systems.

Indent order only.

Features

  • Four-stroke, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 999 cm3 inline-four engine, street-tuned version of the legendary 2005-2007 GSX-R1O00 engine, is designed to provide smooth throttle response, and immediate, controlled acceleration
  • The pistons were engineered with the use of FEM (Finite Element Method) analysis to achieve optimal rigidity and weight. The piston and piston rings are designed 3% lighter than the 2007 GSX-R engine without compromising durability.
  • Suzuki Composite Electrochemical Material (SCEM)-plated cylinders integrated into the upper crankcase reduce friction and improve heat transfer and durability.
  • Fuel injection system employs Suzuki's original, SDTV (Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve) 44mm throttle body (same size as GSX-R1000K7), and the secondary throttle valves are controlled by a servo motor for smooth power delivery and optimum combustion efficiency.
  • The exhaust system is a 4-into-2into-1 system, it has equalizer pipes between 1 and 4, 2 and 3 header pipes. This design contributes to stronger low-to-mid-range output by fine-tuning the exhaust pressure waves.
  • The Suzuki Exhaust Tuning (SET) system controls exhaust pressure waves to improve engine combustion at low rpm.
  • Suzuki's traction control system continuously monitors front and rear wheel speeds, throttle position sensor, crank position sensor and gear position sensor, and quickly reduces engine output when wheel spin is detected.
  • Back-torque-limiting clutch.
  • 43mm KYB Inverted front fork has a 120mm stroke, providing a sporty yet plush ride. The front fork is fully adjustable damping, rebound, compression and spring pre-load.
  • Brembo mono-block front brake calipers are mated with 310mm floating-mount dual discs providing strong braking performance.
  • Antilock Brake System (ABS)
  • The 6-spoke cast aluminium wheels,
  • Dunlop radial tyres, D214F (front) and D214R (rear) provide great grip.
  • Handlebar is Renthal Fatbar
  • Full LCD Instrument cluster
  • Suzuki Easy Start system
